I’m gay
and obviously I support marriage equality, but just because Obama “personally” thinks gay couples should be allowed to get married doesn’t necessarily mean I am going to vote for him. Yes, I want nothing more than to get married to my girlfriend of almost five years, but JUST someone’s personal beliefs on it are not going to justify my vote for him/her (like a lot of people are thinking) when other things need attention also. I’m glad Obama “personally” thinks gay marriage should be legal, but that doesn’t mean it will happen. There have been many steps forward on this situation during his term, yes, but dig a little deeper, people. It’s about that time for him to start tallying up some votes to be re-elected… What was so wrong with addressing this situation a year or two ago?
And this isn’t a democrat/republican issue on my part. I vote for what I think will end up being best in all situations, not just one.
